When it finishes its slowly rotation:
And stares us down at our last breath,
As a stimulated beam, its gaze shall burn a hole
Cutting the coal and pyrite from our granite hearts.
And we shall scream in mortal agony,
The rise of fifths and the last note of the second dance,
a rusty dagger through our icy souls.
No scream without a mouth,
No scream without a mouth,
only a dry, soft whine
Like the mosquito of our lives.
Realizing that we were like the dead sea,
(And not the Galilee),
We break, as glass,
and cease.
