Define a silent love to be
the unity of flesh and blood,
and you immerse yourself
in seas of soullessness,
floods of hopelessness,
erecting castles of sand
among time's tide, that washes
each silent love away.

Define a seperate love for beings
whose love joins yours in crimson bands
of selflessness. Whose love forms joints
that allow its hands to move and wash
the feet of many needy of its touch.

Define a singing love, instead.
A singing love rejoicing among
darker brethren. Putting heathen
loves to shame, dissolving blame
in either member of its coalescent pact.
A love encased in sacrifice
does sing, as one, the greatest
love, did sing so long ago.
