Still Life

Green windfall fruit,
redolence of a certain unanimity of mind,
inspires greater love for He,
and for those who share its memory.

Fingers entwined,
palms marked by
obsidian heartfelt rifts of tenderness,
burst forth, a terpsichore in gently risen ambience.

Night-framed coast,
hymn of stars and laden-water,
visual psalm, a testament to cosmic power,
and hope’s once-silent anthem to
realms of greater consciousness.

A tree, plank nailed crosswise to its stem,
tragedy and triumph amidst a single syllable
of transcendent love, eminent expression of salvation,
inevitably overcomes our ancient antagonist.
